Perhaps I'm just jaded from the cancellation of 'Debris', which I enjoyed. Too many difficulties in 'La Brea' are solved by someone having already been through a sinkhole in a different time or place. I think the interpersonal dramas overwhelm the plot(s). Overall I find it underwhelming.
