One of the most captivating films of the South Indian Screen. Nageswararao as Devadas and Savitri as Parvathy gave true to life excellent performances that made it a legendary cum memorable film. All the songs in the films are well integrated to the story of the film and its impact on the viewers is exceptional. Nageswara Rao seated by the roadside singing 'Ualge Maayam' broke the hearts of several viewers and induced them to shed tears. ANR with his loverboy expressions fitted very well as a doting romantic hero immensely popular with the audience. Lalitha as the- rejected girl -also played her part well. The songs were all well-sung, utterly entertaining and relevant to the theme of the film. It was the Super-grade film ever produced with all aspects of the film - remarkably pleasing to the film-goers.

Or Iravu was a very captivating film of yesterdays mainly due to the excellent acting of K.K.Ramasamy, T.S.Baliah and A. Nageswara Rao. The romantic pair Lalitha and Nageswara Rao acting to the song of Bharathithasan-"Thunpam" nerkailyil"- inspired youngsters in those days to fall in love. A memorable film based on a story by C.N.Annathurai, an exponent of excellent Tamil prose in those days and enhanced by dialogues written by M. Karunanithi- another maestro. Very impressive Tamil film of yesteryears.
