Dynisty Williams

The overall plot was good. The message behind the movie was meaningful. But I got bored half way. I was not as emotionally attached to the characters as I was expecting to be. Most of the characters were flat and I just could not connect with them. There was not a lot of dialogue to hook me. There were many stereotypes and some were harmful, especially the completely false information on Iran. Totally misleading. I am very glad this is an international movie from South Africa and it is wonderful Netflix took this on, but I just cannot get over the misinformation on Iranians and trying to portray them as the bad guy when Iran was never interested in human trafficking. I am happy about the lesbian/wlw rep in this movie though.
