I don't know how much of the drama stuck to the book since it's an adaptation, but I think the drama was fantastic. The first half was a breeze but the later half gets difficult to watch. Watched it for Dilreba ended up liking the male leads a lot! Fantastic acting and it lingers long after you have finished the drama. Strong female lead and their men supporting and doing what they think is best for them. Given the time it's based in, I think the macho-ism works to some extent. The second lead will get to you, as will most of the loyal supporting cast. Revenge is a dish best served cold, so it was but the character development and what they are thinking, including portraying their emotions, that is done so well here! It's really hard to hate any character because you get a peek into their minds. If you enjoy historical dramas, I highly recommend watching this show!

I've spent so many years on the translated book, wondering if there will ever be a drama starring the stoic Dijun and his young queen. I still love the book more than the drama, since they took too much liberty and introduced changes that aren't part of the book. But it's so great to see the characters come alive! The actors were more giggly than the ones in the book. But knowing the liberty the creators took I think they did a great job. Won't re-watch because the changes trigger me, but will definitely reread the book.
