Ok, hear me out. The movie started out feeling very cheesy and scripted. I was getting ready to hunker down for 2 hours of a bad movie. But then it surprised me. All in all, I walked out feeling entertained and satisfied.
The bad: the acting wasn't always great, the characters didn't have much depth, the story line felt rushed and undeveloped at times, and alot of corny scary movie stereotypes were used.
The good: the visual effects were good, I kinda liked the hard rock techno music, the villain turned out to be super creepy and cool, the fight scenes were pretty awesome, and there were some good twists and turns.
About 20 minutes in I finally started to get intrigued by the story. Once I got to see the villain more and more I was getting into it. After some of the chase and fight scenes, I was hooked. And the twist at the end satisfied me.
My recommendation: don't go into this move expecting depth and development. Go into it looking for a cool villain, good effects, cool killing and fight scenes and an all around good time.
