Watched the movie on Wednesday (6th March) as it was launched in Asia. It's another formulaic outing for Marvel, there are some nice nods to the usual stuff in the comics and the ultimate cameo by Stan Lee, but overall my first impression of the movie was: emotionally empty. Captain Marvel just felt rushed through to bring the character up to speed in the MCU, I felt the whole plot didn't serve the character well because I felt like Carol Danvers didn't really earn her spot (yea, the build-up tried hard but fell short).
2nd impression after finishing the movie and recapping what I watched: the movie tried too hard to pander to feminists and lead to mediocre execution, leaving me (and some audiences) dissatisfied with the journey. I mean, we all know Captain Marvel is going to have a major impact on Avengers: Endgame but that left it with big shoes to fill, and they did it with a mixed bag (Fantastic powers and abilities, Character development is subpar and uncompelling).
I don't regret watching the movie, and might probably catch it as an MCU rerun, similar to Incredible Hulk and IronMan 3. Not worth a rewatch unless you have nothing else to do and it's on TV.
Edit: Final score from me is 6.5/10.
