...and A STORY WORTH TELLING is a story well written by the Author: Village Church Founding Pastor Emeritus Edgar L. Williams, Jr. It is a story that's tastefully and tactfully told. It is a story that speaks of "knocking down giants" that aimed to derail and/or to shut down the visions and plans meant to spring forth and to Glorify God. It is a story that emphasizes how "Our God is Bigger" than any giant(s) that WE WILL encounter in life! It is a story that gives a beautiful glimpse of how like minded, harmoniously working people ( on ONE ACCORD & with the SAME GOAL in mind) can and will accomplish all that they set out to do when they pray,submit their plans to God and then trust and wait on HIM. Jeremiah 29:11 states : " For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ...and so God's Shepherd and the brothers & sisters in Christ of Village Church stood on God's promises and God Delivered. It is a story of Believers who walked by Faith, and not by sight. It is a story that gives a recount of a humbled people's persistence, their perseverance, their patience, their diplomacy, their respect of others and their complete Trust In God, and NOT IN MAN. Their faith and strength in God Almighty was steadfast! This is a New Birth story for The Village Church Family that was born from a long, hard Labor of Love. And God gets the Glory. It is an abbreviated story that I Highly recommend because it is is so worth reading. It briefly highlights God's willing & chosen Shepherd, Pastor E. L. Williams Jr .for the task of building Village Church with a flock of sheep who were eager to listen, to move on, to grow God's kingdom and to follow their trusting Shepherd's lead. And he did not lead them astray! Thus, Village Church, at 4013 Indian River Road, VA Beach, VA was born. It EXISTS, and it is a part of the rich, African American History & Legacy in that City now. Thank you, Pastor Emeritus Williams, for writing & sharing this "heart stirring" History/Story that needed to be told and to be applauded & appreciated for the absence of drama,name calling, gossip, malignment, finger pointing, blame and other ungodly experiences you had to endure to get to the destination God already had planned for U. It's evident that God elevated your works For Him, gave you much favor and kept you humble and free from bitterness. Great Book to read!!
