A great followup to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that I originally played with my EA Play subscription. I actually purchased a Fallen Order/Survivor combo from the XBOX Store as it was on sale, and by the time I bought it in 2024 most of the bugs were fixed. It did still freeze sometimes on my XBOX One X though, which always required a reboot of the game, so be sure to save often at meditation points so as not to lose progress.
The five main characters from Fallen Order return and there is very good story and character development. The Mantis is also back for interplanetary travel. The worlds are bigger, especially Kobbo, and somewhat "open world" (for side quests - aka "rumors"), but the main story is very linear. The fighting is the same as before (you must block & parry), but the Jedi Survivor skill trees build on the skills that you already achieved in Fallen Order. There are now 5 lightsaber types that you can unlock as you progress, each with it's own skill tree. There are 3 Force skill trees that are super helpful in combat (i.e. slow/hold, confuse, lift, slam, etc...), and one Survival skill tree. The boss fights, especially on the Jedi Master difficulty and above, can be ridiculously hard, as well as some of the "Force Tears". Also, be sure to do the bounty hunter side quests as there is a great reward at the end. The Jedi Chamber puzzles are fun and earn skill points or rewards. Once you get used to flying the Relters, that is super fun and helpful to reach some collectibles. Finally, some lighter moments include collecting fish with Skoova Skev, and collecting seeds for a cantina rooftop garden.
All in all, a very satisfying game. Note that if you are a "completionist", this game will take quite a while to finish.
