I preordered the game and hyped it up for a long time running. Were my expectations fulfilled when I finished the game? Nope, the game was even better than I thought it was going to be! Sure the occasional crashes and freezes were there but what do you expect from a game this big when its only been out for a few days.
The story blew me away and had me get invested into so many characters that when I first met them, I didn't care about in the slightest. For example, Panam, when I first met the character I just thought to myself that she was just another boring npc, but as the relationship between her and V grew, my thoughts of her became much more positive. This happens with many characters in the game.
The combat and driving is definitely not the focus of the game, but that's not to say that it isn't fun to engage in.
Currently playing on xbox one x, the driving puts my game down to around 15 fps at times and occasionally even makes my game freeze for a few brief seconds. But as you progress through the game you find cooler and cooler vehicles to drive and its a great accessory to game. I found myself driving on the outskirts of nightcity with calm music playing as I took in the views and had deep thoughts.
The fighting is also very fun and I found no flaws in it except when in a few instances I was flung away from an enemy I was meleeing and had to run back to the fight from 100m away.
All in all this game was a story-telling masterpiece no matter what ending you get. But you'll just have to experience the game for yourself to really understand what im talking about.
