I saw Eternals two days ago and was very apprehensive after hearing bad reviews from critics, but I decided to go watch it and I'm so glad I did! Any MCU fan would enjoy this film, although it doesn't follow the typical Marvel formula - it's more mature, darker, and much more rich and emotional than other MCU movies. Chloe did a great job in introducing all of the characters and developing an arc for each of them. The cinematography was off the charts, the costumes were beautiful and intricate and the storyline was well-developed. The fighting scenes were great and not too fast-paced. I especially loved how scenes of Makkari running were not slowed down. The casting was strong and delivered their lines well. Loved the representation- finally felt like I could see myself on the screen. Some criticism was that I wished they did not take Kingo away from the final battle. I felt like they pulled him out for no reason. Also wished that they had more scenes with Makkari and Druig throughout the movie instead of the end. Props to Lauren and Barry because the chemistry was amazing. Lastly, I didn’t love the Bollywood dance scene, it could have been improved with a song that wasn't in English. I guess Kumail meant it when he said he couldn't dance. This movie isn’t the greatest film, but it is very good. This is a perfect example of why we need more POC and female critics.
