For better or worse, one of the best Star Trek games available if you're after ship-to-ship combat and some Trek-style ground battles. Otherwise, you're just "boldly grinding where all have ground before" until you get sick of it. If that's your thing, than this is the game for you. If you're looking for an actual Star Trek experience, play Bridge Commander.
The game may have gone Free-to-Play, but make no mistake: if you want to be "the best", be prepared to grind hard and buy stuff with actual money. The community is half-friendly, half-toxic and unless you have half an idea on how to play, there is little or no help to be found.
PvP is horrid, you can either choose to get vaporized by veteran players with kitbashed and exotic gear, or fight other newcomers until they get tired.
The story has its ups and downs, but is pretty cardboard stuff. A few cool missions on the Federation and Romulan side, but the Klingons have been reduced to primal, almost feral warmongers. Do NOT expect more than a mediocre Roleplay experience, unless you can really lower your standards. You'll have better times doing so with fellow players.
