We enjoyed this movie, and the blend of characters was a lot of fun. Wry humor, interesting twists, a weird story, and a good vehicle for the two main actors and "the kid." We can't wait for the sequel. No movie is "perfect", according to many pundits, but this wasn't meant to be an epic or bombastic - it was meant to be entertaining with a great cast. It exceeded what we thought it would be and the kid made us hoot a few times with his naivety.

We found this movie to be excellent. Phoenix portrayed Napoleon in a way that was human yet epic. The battle scenes were brilliantly rendered - especially on the ice - and we considered this to be a thoughtful rendering of a man who never wanted to be a king, torn between love and country. It certainly goes beyond the traditional portrait of this strategist, different than historical bias and type-casting. Bravo!

Excellent movie, beautifully crafted, lovely cinematography and the characters were believable and well-played. One of the best movies we have seen in recent history and we watch a LOT of movies.

Sweet story with a great "cast"

Great movie, excellent cast, wonderful plot twists and a satisfying ending. Who could ask for more?

Beautifully and lovingly rendered with wonderful acting. Since it's my favorite book from when I was a young teen and I feel strong ties toward it and the story, how can it be anything but a 5?

We both loved it. The dance and choreography, Andrew Lloyd Weber's music come to life, the drama, pathos and comic relief came as a wonderful Christmas surprise. I think anyone who pans this movie has absolutely no sense of good theater. This is an imaginative musical, a dance spectacular and I think it a pure shame that people are trashing it. How could you possible deny the beauty of Jennifer Hudson's "Memories" or the ballerina who performed Victoria to perfection. Rebel Wilson was awesome, Judi Dench was as wonderful as anyone could have been in the role. All people want to talk about it Taylor Swift but she had a relatively small role in a big production. And Mistoffelees..I could go on and on but I know fans of GOOD musicals and excellent choreography know this already and those who pooh-pooh it need to try performing like this for 5 minutes. Well done! but too bad it went up against Star Wars which is awesome in its own right.

This movie had everything - excitement, a storyline, great SFX, a visit with the Schwartz, Sarah Connor, a hybrid human to fight the impressive bad guys and a sweet new heroine to which to pass the torch. We both loved it. In a word "AWESOME!"

The Goldfinch reminded me of the creation of a classic painting or a symphony. It builds, layer upon layer until the final brushstroke/crescendo is reached and the vision is realized. It was beautifully crafted and the acting was totally on point. I love the way it all made sense at the end.
