A guns blazing, heart racing, soul tearing homage to everything that has, IMHHO…, made Craig’s version of Bond far better than anyone else who has laced up his boots and stepped into the tux of 007 prior. Rami Malek is a menacing and well articulated adversary, the rest of the supporting cast performs their bits to absolute perfection and Daniel Craig once again embodies everything we thought we never wanted, but absolutely needed to bring the most fully realized, well rounded Bond yet to fruition. The opening sequence is again a seat of the pants carnival ride of suspense and intrigue, the titles among the best in recent memory and while the title song might not linger in our memories alongside Adele, or Chris Cornell…it helps set the mood for the main course to come. I don’t know who shall get the nod to follow Craig in this role, but they certainly better bring their A - Game as the die has been cast and the standard set, the feeble cries of “Craig not Bond” preceding the release of Casino Royale now a distant, laughable memory and in reality…the pressure is now squarely upon whomever faces the monumental task of following Daniel Craig, simply put…the best Bond ever.
