It wasnt better than the Animated version but that's been the case so far with the live action remakes. BUT by going with that standard I think Aladdin was very good and met my expectation. The music was still great. I could still sing along like I use to as a kid, that was very important to me personally. Will Smith did very good as the Genie. Keeping it pretty close to how we expect him to be but also had a lot of his own spin on it. Robin Williams will still always be the best Genie in my heart, I mean Will Smith had some big shoes to fill, but I think he would be proud of his performance.
