Even after so many years since its publication, the story is so gripping and the language so beautiful and precise that apart from the deriving the delights of reading , one could gain from Sherlock Holmes stories the essence of moulding finely crafted language .
I looked for this story to read today because a similar incident just took place in Kerala, India, where I belong, where a husband killed his young wife using a poisonous snake, to grab her wealth.
