Its a strange mix and a bit of a culture shock to anything else in the Star Trek stable. I'm not sure I like it but I don't dislike it. Its different and curious.....but does it fit? The quality of the production is excellent but I'm never keen on prequels which look far in advance of the originals and are trying to fit in. I liked Enterprise for its crudeness earlier styling. Its a difficult one when the original Star Trek technology for example used switches and sliders whilst this prequel are using holographic projections and more advanced designs. Personally, I would have liked this to have been set in the 27th/28th centuries to make sense. I may well revise my opinion as the story unfolds

I really enjoyed this series and think sometimes it's seriously underestimated. Personally, I enjoyed more the stand alone stories particularly with the enigmatic and difficult Vulcans. It was good to see Vulcan ships of the startling design they were. Ironically later series showed very little of these and certainly nothing as spectacular. I liked the submarine type quality of the Enterprise and it's developing technologies. It's always difficult I think trying to prequel early series particularly when we have long surpassed the switch technology of the original Star Trek. Other films or series can go way over the top making the infil films or series overly futuristic for the time they are set in.
