Its a strange mix and a bit of a culture shock to anything else in the Star Trek stable. I'm not sure I like it but I don't dislike it. Its different and curious.....but does it fit?
The quality of the production is excellent but I'm never keen on prequels which look far in advance of the originals and are trying to fit in. I liked Enterprise for its crudeness earlier styling. Its a difficult one when the original Star Trek technology for example used switches and sliders whilst this prequel are using holographic projections and more advanced designs. Personally, I would have liked this to have been set in the 27th/28th centuries to make sense.
I may well revise my opinion as the story unfolds
