I’ve been a Star Wars fan for many years and I was quite impressed with this film. Of course it had its faults, as all movies do, but I think J.J. Abrams did the best job he could with what he had to work with off The Last Jedi
In my opinion, the last Jedi was a terrible film that created many plot holes in the prequel trilogy and much of episode 9 had to be devoted to fixing those issues.
One thing I didn’t like about the film was the seemingly rushed pace. I understand that there was a lot that had to be put into this movie because it was the end of the saga, but I think they could have made it 45 minutes longer, slowed down a little, and possibly included more information (for instance, how palpatine returned)
Now many people act like the movie sucks because there is no way that palpatine returned and the fact that he did ruins the sacrifice that anakin skywalker made in return of the Jedi. I’d have to disagree with both of those. For one, Palpatine is the most powerful Sith there’s ever been in Star Wars history. He even told anakin in the prequels that he knew how to cheat death. I just wish they said how he survived. As for the claim that it ruined anakins sacrifice, remember that anakin, being the chosen one, was supposed to bring balance to the force (which he did). It never said though that that balance would last forever. Also, remember that Rey didn’t kill palpatine on her own. She had the power of 1000 generations of Jedi (including anakin) giving her strength.
So, in my opinion, this was a great movie especially considering what we got with the last Jedi. It had its flaws but I think the good things definitely outweighed them.
