A wonderful book. It amazes me how many people seem to miss the barely disguised queer subtext. If you're coming to this novel from the Netflix series please recognise that it is more than just a ghost story! It's definitely more of a psychological horror with a lot of Freudian themes. It's about motherhood, grief, desire, transgression etc! If that's not what you're looking for go elsewhere instead of leaving one-star reviews because "it wasn't like the TV show".

I liked it at first but they've removed so much from previous games. No perfect fruit, no tree stumps, no coffee shop, less furtniture, no kapp'n and nowhere near enough villager dialogue. It is such a shame but clearly nowhere near as much thought has gone into this as new leaf. New features like crafting got tired very quickly and to me it honestly feels like a very pretty mobile or facebook game. Like jazzed up farmville. I hope they get things up to standard through updates soon. : (
