I wanted to love this game. Some aspects are great. The walker concept is so good. The switch to pve and tiles settings with a gradual pvp is actually really nice. The graphics themselves are also pretty nice. The pvp isn't really toxic or bad. Those are great qualities you rarely see in a game.
The main issues include:
Tuning: I was literally hit by 18 sandstorms in one day. Those shred your walker and health unless you have a house and hangar already in place. Most games you get hit by maybe 2 or 3 environmental. No this was 18. Didn't have much left when that day was over.
Maintenance: Right now the upkeep is daily. You can't take a break for more than a day without feeding the chest or else all that you've built will deteriorate. That gets old really quickly. Maintenance chests are cool but chopping down 50ish trees per day and harvesting entire fields of fiber is basically work when you aren't working. Nobody needs that.
Fun level: the developer overhauled the game because it wasn't fun. Literally a post about how they thought the game sucked on steam. Right now and apparently for quite some time the game just gets boring. You have only dogs and monkeys to kill. You chop wood, mine stone, kill some monkeys repair your walker repeat over and over......seriously gets old super quickly. There are no surprises to find. All maps are identical and you just start over at each quality. It's a horrible advancement system.
Buggy: I literally ran into a monkey hut. The walker got stuck. The game has an unstuck feature but it doesn't work if you take any damage. So monkeys slowly turreted my walker one arrow at a time until it's hull hit zero. Such is the state of the game. Dogs get stuck in trees, you will get stuck on your ammo box, it's buggy as all get out.
It feels as though the developers should quit, delete it, then make a gundam style survival set in a different universe and learn from their mistakes but use literally the same mechanics at this point. It's fun for a week. Join a clan if you want to stay past that week. If you like solo, storyline survival, polished games etc. Just stay away and save your time and energy for something else.
