The diversity in this movie is beautiful. When you think of a movie about a 'perfect world', you would imagine a couple of black background characters, but an almost completely white main cast. When I saw a curvy black female with acne and glasses make it onto the cheer team, a grin broke out onto my face. Poc people aren't pushed to the side for an aesthetic, this movie is about acceptance. The casting isn't awkward and it's not obvious black people were thrown in to make Disney seem open-minded. There isn't a divide between humans. There are only two races; human and zombie.
This movie had the same (I can't think of a word for it) as Descendants and High School Musical. That (can't word it) is what puts those movies in the books. The music is perfectly placed, not thrown in to get musical credit. The movie doesn't focus around the music; every detail is checked and reviewed by Disney. The acting is a little over-the-top, but the perfect amount of cringy. The actors perfectly portray the characters.
Yes, the plot may have a little work needed, but that was a result of small scripting errors; the other positive aspects make up for it. Zombies is taking Disney back to the 00's, with the quality newer movies like Kim Possible failed to reach. I hope Disney continues to put this much effort into providing viewers with future classics.
