This movie was yet another example of how thanks to streaming services lining up to make EVERY SCRIPT into a movie, that the quality of film has become a stain on the carpet at best. Adding that Steven king wrote the original story will sucker people into watching this utterly awful and incomplete story to screen adaptation. Not to mention that the film is so dark that you fall asleep or lose out on the most important part of film, what you see. I’d say don’t waste your time, but go ahead and watch it. That way you can add a negative review in hope that garbage movies by garbage directors quit being funded into 90 minute wastes of time.

Takeaway on the new coming to America movie from last night. It was a good movie. Not great. But you won’t regret watching. Certainly not a waste of time. 1. Tried too hard to make it look like multiple rap videos at times. Felt like cheap seat sleazy Broadway It was so scummy I expected to see drake painting Kanye west’s toenails it was so peculiar. Kinda undermines the mature adult audience who’s nostalgia was on the line as a core fan base. 2. The story was good for a sequel but poorly directed. Some scenes looked like screen tests with poor acting surrounded by good takes making weak scenes stand out as rushed or bad. 3. They should have left Wesley snipes in jail. What a joke. 4. In classic modern fashion they pushed women’s dominance over the neutered male. But it worked in this movie through Akeems eldest daughters settling of certain war, so bravo actually. 5. Leslie Jones. Need I say more. I love this woman’s comedy. Totally awesome role. She’s always firing on all cylinders. 6. The kings aid that sings she’s your queen lip synced his new song which was a flop. His off voice and callousness vocally is what is so funny. Having John legend sing it for him was a major miss. 7. Trying to put almost every recognizable black actor in a movie led to weakening of the movie for cameo purposes. Less is more. If you’re going to use Morgan freeman, it needs to work. 8. The return of sexual chocolate was funny 9. I needed some soul glo. Seems despite all the throwbacks and recycling done that they missed on some key jokes to renew 10. Lastly, I don’t know what the heck I’m talking about most of the time but I stand by my review on this one.
