Not realistic at all, spoiler - Matt damon is left on Mars alone because everyone had to leave because of a massive storm on Mars mars doesn't even have dangerous storms, stroms on Mars are like average winds on earth. Plus he uses his fellow astronauts' poop to grow potatoes on Mars, which has a lot of bacterias cuz humans are immune to their own bacterias that lie in their poop but are not immune to some other person's bacterias and if he ate the potatoes he grew on Mars with other astronaut's poop would make him very, very ill. But if you are looking for a Sci - fi movie movie wich isn't realistic but feels realistic this is the movie for you.
