none of the original characters are even in the movie, and the characters that were already in the movie were horrible as is. for example, turtle wexler seemed more childish, immature, and annoying in general. in the book, she's a mature 13 year old with brains and knowledge of the stock market, whereas in the movie she comes off as an annoying 9 year old. all of the characters that needed to be there weren't in in (mademe hoo, flora baumbach, etc.) i find these 2 characters are key parts of the book. mademe hoo is, spoiler alert, the burgaler, and flora baumbach is a key part of telling the story of sam westing's daughter, helping angela wexler find a wedding dress, and being the motherly figure that turtle wexler never had. some of the physical traits caught me off guard, such as angela having brown hair instead of beautiful blonde hair, jake wexler looking really older then he should have been. my language arts class read this and we were all assigned a character to focus on throughout the story, mine being flora baumbach. to have my whole class watch the movie and be finding their characters, whereas i have to forget flora existed sucks. all in all, bad movie
