Sonu Murphy

It was definitely a spin on the original story and that was to be expected. I was looking forward to a new take on the story but this was disappointing. Character development was poor and the Nutcracker had a minor role with little dialogue. The lead was conflicted and never resolved her issues. The bad guy was sooooo obvious. When has a good guy ever said, " we need an army " ??? I was sooooo glad to see Helen Mirren but she was wasted in this movie with only two scenes. She had the potential to be the ultimate villian or hero but wasn't enough screen time for either. My six year old was disappointed. The only saving grace was the scene and end credit scene with the ballet dancers. They were amazing! I just wish the plot and characters had been developed and given more screen time to evolve.
