Lets start with the negatives: Obviously not a perfect game... obviously. Below every standard we might hold established gaming companies. Little bit glitchy, graphics are under done, the story is a little slow, etc. Also the battle system wont work in competitive.
That being said, this is the best pokemon game I've ever played. There is a flow to the game that is super addicting. Because of the "bad" battle system, it forces you to use all of your pokemon, even if you are over leveled. The story may lack plot, but it doesn't lack content and that positive feeling gained from progression. There are a bunch of different strategies to catching pokemon. Even after 30 hours I am learning new methods and see my self getting more skillful at catching. The crafting system functions similar to many other main stream games, like Fallout 4, where you need to constantly gather materials to craft, but you have the option of buying the necessary materials.... ... .. ..
I can go on... and on, and on. This is the right direction. This is how we get the next generation of gamers into pokemon.
