It's a far cry from DA:O and DA:I, but it's solidly entertaining. Great graphics, imaginative environments, excellent combat, and it runs smooth as butter. All in all a better installment than DA2, but it has flaws. The lack of respect for what came before is pretty stark. World state choices from previous games are essentially ignored. Plots from previous games are shoehorned into "it was all the work of the new big bads". It also feels a bit PG compared to previous entries. No funny or lewd/crude banter between companions. The romances are chronically unspicy. All of your character choices are mostly lawful or chaotic good coded. The devs likely needed another year to cook on story/character/dialogue work.

All in all, it was pretty good. Not groundbreaking, but a good effort at mimicking a Disney film. The animation is excellent. Colorful, vibrant, I was very much reminded of Pixar's Coco. None of the songs are earworms per se, (except for maybe the Chang'e pop diva #), but they're decently crafted and mostly pleasant to listen to. The story is not nearly as tight as your typical Disney film, and there are some cultural notes that are going to leave some western viewers a bit puzzled, but the overall message is very positive and heartfelt. TLDR - Your kids will probably enjoy it.
