I love "Carrie's story". Although I would've chosen Aiden years ago, the storyline with Big was touching. I loved watching SJP age so gracefully. After the last episode, I went back and watched all 6 seasons of Sex and the City. Which, really intrigued me.
Too bad the riff between the two kept Samantha off this last hurrah. It was missing that element. No matter how hard they tried to fill that hole in the story, it came up lacking without Samantha. (I was less than impressed with the new characters.)
Charlotte ... well, the whole Rose/Rock thing grew tiresome. Harry made me smile, such a great guy. And Lily turned out just as I knew she would, and that was truly satisfying. Charlotte, as always, remained shallow and prissy. In the old series Charlotte always lamented over her thighs. Kristen Davis has definitely thickened over the years, despite her beauty. Just as so many women do.
So sad to lose Stanley ... RIP, Willie.
But it's the character of Miranda that has me wanting to pull out my hair. Watch the old series. She really loved Steve. And Steve worshipped Miranda. Their history together was absolutely ripped apart by the writers of And Just Like That. That whole storyline made me want to throw a brick at my TV. I get it that Cynthia Nixon is gay, but Miranda was not. They even made a special point in telling us "Miranda" was not gay in the old series. And you don't throw out a good guy like Steve in the trash just because he's old and can't hear anymore. That was poor writing, obviously, by young writers who have no clue about devotion and the meaning of aging. Just bad. Really bad. Go back and watch the love story of Miranda and Steve. What she does to him in And Just Like That is disgusting.
But ... I'll always be a fan of SJP. The timeline of Carrie is worth the whole Sex in the City series.
