I had high hopes. The acting was really good. The various characters were well played. The story was pretty rough. They didn’t really finish anything. Hawkman and Canary subplot was weird and inconsistent. Flash (Jay) talked about “when I was younger” but he looked the same age as the rest of them. “Shakespeare” was forced. Aquaman was really not a helpful subplot. WW was weird and her backstory wasn’t developed. I thought the payoff would be the old trope if she accepted a ring she would lose her powers…but nothing Aquaman heads home with his monster and suddenly it’s time to go home Barry. Then Barry totally kills the bad guy and Superman tries to just leave the mess on the street. It was a waste of a solid story in favor of trying to force multiple stories without any payoff. The only saving grace was Iris Also…probably a non issue…but Barry’s costume looked stupid. Why can’t we just leave the random face things out of it and go with the classic face mask? Keep trying guys. It’s not a fail…it’s more of a missed opportunity.
