If you like history, this is the book for you. If you like Southern history, this is the book for you. If you like family history, this is the book for you. If you want to learn how to research a bit more into your own family history, this is the book for you. Although the book is predicated on the ancestry of a black family, as far back as research allows, this book inspires anyone who wants to learn about those who came before them to do a little digging.
Informative, well written and fact based, this book gave me a new interest in history...and I don't like history. Written in a moving manner, OURstory Unchanged and Liberated From HIStory brought smiles and tears and insight into some historical facts not taught in my American History schooling, and I dare to say, not in yours either.
Take a little time to purchase and read this book if for no other reason than to add to your own perspectives of the history you were taught. This is an excellent read for you and your children, regardless of ethnicity. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it as a must have in every home seeking to understand where ordinary Black Americans really come from and where they stand today in our society.
