Marauder in Chief

It's a well made film and a competent cast helps it move along, although don't ask me to enumerate the charecters. A tad shorter and it could have made one of those niche sci fi movies. Anyways, well worth a watch.

A slasher , with a teenager doing the bits. A movie which might do more for the genre in a sequel, because the plot in this one, left a lot to be desired.

It's a modernist caricature of the old affair and there's not much wanting for expression or context. Monsters are bad and so are the ones as beget them.

It was undoubtedly a story which promised the thing with feathers and delivered forthrightly such. However, this is not a trial drama where locutionary brilliance is on exhibition , rather an intimation of general apathy and a resounding gesture to apprise us of the vulnerability which accompanies unprivileged births and how each bit of honesty esteems meliorations.

It's a feature that is like many others, about visitors from places afar manifesting themselves to some specific unwitting populations and the aftermath of such intercepts defining the narrative. The treatment and the tenor of this movie, though is different and in a way innovative,which again is not an endorsement of the flick per se, merely a distinction being made. It's not a bad movie, even so not particularly engaging either. Not a bad indulgence, when there's not much else to be done.

I found it tolerable, but just. There's nothing new, nor is the treatment fresh : been there, done that, movies being movies, the more widely repeated a trope, the less one remembers thus there is always scope for a viewing. If there's nothing else to be done, might watch it , but i would not recommend it.

This is , in fine, more of a mystery than a horror flick, though there are tropes referencing modern urban horror, which if you have been exposed to Korean cinema, can be employed to great results : not that this drama handles it poorly, but there are moments when the narrative seems forced by plot requirements, as against a cause and effect concatenation that propels the really, singular pieces of cinematic art. Still and all, this is a nice change of pace, with enough entertainment quotient to make it worth your while, has nice twist and clever misdirections. But for, some unreal and contrived instances, there is not much to find fault here — greatly commended.

Start with the premise of the extreme possibility of an indifferent response ,post viewing. Either you'll be an admirer or walk out disgusted. I belong in the former class. It's a riveting drama, with scant possibilities of establishing narrative patterns, relying on past experiences, simply because the freshness of the tale and esoteric mythologies, offer not many pointers. Everything gells, there is cohesion of most aspects of filmmaking , one that rounds up the story and the denouement into a cleverly bundled visual exposition.
