This book started out as a real page-turner: environmental disasters, humanity in trouble, the formation of a new agency for an important problem, some cloak-and-dagger. But about 1/4 of the way in, Robinson abandoned any kind of real human interest or narrative. This book was BORING. It was like Robinson took point form notes and then tried deliberately to stretch them out over dozens of chapters without adding anything more.
