This entire show is the embodiment of an enigma. It's my personal favorite anime of all time however this show is definitely not for everyone.
The unique thing about Jojo's is that there are a variety of parts which follows a different protagonist and setting for each one. From part 1 which takes place in England with creatures of darkness, to part 4 which takes place in a small Japanese town crawling with barrenness, part 5 which is about Italian Gangsters, and part 7 which is about a country wide horse race in 1890's America. The first two parts features a unique martial arts system called Hamon but then Part 3 onward it starts to focus more on Stands which are ghostly manifestations of a person's psyche.
Part 1 and 2 feature enjoyable fight scenes and an engaging plot but after part 3, it tends to focus more on fights which are known as Stand Battles (especially part 3). I tend to find part 7 (not animated yet) my favorite because it had a good balance of battles and interesting story, and despite everyone saying part 1 is the worst for how short it is, I would tend to find myself re-watching that more than part 3 since that is bloated with filler stand battles. (Part 3 has good moments and it's episodic journey is something I understand the author was going far but it can became a chore to watch at times.)
Jojo's also suffers from occasional plot holes and questionable story decisions such as a particular fight from part 5 which used a plot hole as a stake and the entire fight suffered because of it.
Surprisingly however, despite the negatives such as occasionally too many stand battles and plot holes, the bizarre and bonkers nature of this show lives up to it's name. I usually criticise anime for having the usual tropes but here, since the show is bizarre, I didn't mind it in fact I think it fit the tone well as if it was embracing the tropes, unlike other shows which have sexualised females and are desperate for me to take the story seriously still (like Gurren Lagann). Anime like Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill are bonkers but this is on another level. Since I was so immersed in the aesthetic of "please switch your brain off", I ended up taking it seriously/emotional in some areas. It's hard for me to explain the tone this show is going for but all I can say is that it's totally unique to the point where some of these plot holes didn't matter to me because I was having just a good time.
I would usually get bothered by females being too sexualised but in Jojo, it isn't done to the extent where it makes me blow my head off because the show has more humor outside of "Haha he COULD be a pervert!!". The running gags the show has are really funny and memorable, and not to mention the amount of memes you can get from this.
Tone and memes aside, my favorite part has to be the setting/soundtrack. They NAILED each setting to be different to one another from the art style to the soundtrack. The soundtrack in Jojo's is one of my favorites in any media. I like the variety in Jojo's because it's like there is something for everyone because each story has a different aesthetic and focus on themes, outside of the focus on fights. The fights themselves are good not because you know who is going to win but because of the creative way the protag get's out of his presentiment.
Overall, the quality of the show depends on the part. If I were to rank them starting from the worst it'd be 3, 1, 6, 2, 5, 4, then 7. Give this show a watch one time if you're curious but if you don't like the sound of it from what I described with the fighting then you probs won't be interested.
