As someone who is in long term recovery (this month marks sixteen years free from drugs and alcohol), I was blown away by the messaging of this movement. For so many years, I couldn't grasp that I should personally remain anonymous with my experience, and have been vocal and open out in the world as a result. Yet even with my own openness, and knowing some about some of the ways others individually and in various programs have been visible in society, it wasn't until I watched this documentary that I learned we need to do more. We need to advocate more. We need to stand up and help eliminate the stigma that still exists around recovery from addiction. And people are doing more, advocating more,as the documentary showed. Yet it's not enough yet. So I'm going to step up even more. And get more involved. This is a powerful documentary.
