All the performances were spot on !!!! It is not a maudlin film about the death of a child. It very clearly strives to show the struggle each character is facing and attempting to embrace the “ new normal “ of their family without their deceased son.
I believe Mary Tyler Moore and Donald Sutherland deserved Oscars as well.
Timothy Hutton was brilliant !

Wonderfully realistic portrait of her father who loves them but fails them. Lovable failure Colin Farrell, and his bond with his little daughter are an enchanting story.
