It's one thing for a show to have a premise about combat, or fighting, or even telling a story. To say this show is, to me, an awful dumpster fire or a massive over-hyped....thing, of disappointment.
1)So little actual fighting animation. Most fight scenes barely showcase any fluidity of movement, or just do bare minimum and give a single panning page FILLED with useless exposition. I've seen kid's shows with better pace of movement and choreography.
2)The Dialogue. Oh my Effing Christ, the dialogue makes me want to physically punch the script writers or the producers in the face, repeatedly, for how much I loathe the AMOUNT, and the POINTLESSNESS, of the literal MINUTES of exposition and failed attempts to hype up the menacing history or backstory or what-have-you when it actually comes to any of the confrontations or physical violence. If you wanted to watch a show of fighting, be prepared to slog through a biography while you're at it.
3)It's an anime. I know that. Doesn't change that the whole premise of the show's Universal Constant's or Characteristics have so many of the primary, secondary, and tertiary character's faces absolutely atrocious. Faces so twisted with many folds of "muscle" or scar lines, some of which make NO Sense in the concept of even past-trauma scarring.
Maybe this might sound Homo-phobic, but I'm of the inclination to think the animators just put together this show to satisfy their fetish of bodybuilder physiques to drool over. I dunno.
