Has it’s mommy, but the plot is a bit hard to follow.

Despite some name brand talent in Liam Hemsworth, John Malkovic (though a virtual cameo) and Vince Vaughan, the cast of Arkansas simply couldn’t pull off this southern-themed over the top and ultra violent crime tale. Vaughan’s southern “accent” was just awful and Aussie Hemsworth and Malkovic were only marginally better. In telling the story, actors were also hindered by a confusing narrative and subpar script. Although it was filmed mostly in Mobile, Ala., there was an absence of local characters that might have made it more interesting. Totally unbelievable.

The same tired narrative from so many Bond and Bourne films except The Gray Man is a supersized version of all those action flicks. This is two hours plus of the usual shootouts, bombings, car chases, plane crashes, knife fights, etc al. Ryan Gosling was effective as the good guy. The dialogue and music were also offensive. I watched on Netflix, but it’s a movie I won’t return to.

Slowly moving except in spurts of violence. The ending (disappointing) couldn’t come soon enough. Was a wild pig actually killed for the scene where Page was gutting it? Don’t waste your time on this one.

One of my favorite movies of all time; have watched it several times, Leo should have won best actor, and obviously the movie should have won best picture.
