There's an hour of a 91 minute film I'll never get back ...!

If you pass by this film because you think it's a boxing story, or you choose it because you think it is ... ... you may be disapointed. Boxing provides the scene and the context; this is a story of complex human emotions not to be missed. Oh --- and the acting is simply superb !

Sometimes a fanciful story with a predictable, fairytale ending is worth telling. This film is one of those.

I don't much like Westerns; films about the movie business --- even less ! This film is both ... A silly plot, but a script rich in film-making platitudes, it's both completely predictable and very funny, with humour from the subtle to the slapstick and --- a really terrific cast. I enjoyed it enormously.

No structure, no character development, a weak plot based upon a few disjointed events from Dillinger's past and --- a ton of Tommy-guns. The acting was forced and not believable. Nice cinematography and costumes, though. Overall: I learned nothing of these real-life characters or the era in which they lived. In short: a waste of my time; one would be better served with a documentary.
