I had really high hopes for this game and I’ve never been one to complain, let alone leave a public review. But I’m sure there are a lot of players out there that can relate to my experiences with Vanguard. This game has so much potential, and there are some positives - though it does not outweigh the cons. Here are some points that really take away the experience of this game. Spawns - you can literally die 6 times in a row, purely just by being spawned directly in front of an enemy or sprinkled in the middle of the map. Partner that up with Forward Intel and it just becomes unplayable. Camping - It honestly does not matter how skilled of a player you are, you can not beat a prone, mounted player with an LMG and a shield as a secondary, that’s tucked away in a corner - The. Whole. Entire. Game. Let alone 4 of them in the one place aiming down narrow corridors. I miss rushing. I miss the fast paced gun fights. I miss the actual tasks being played. Instead of turning every game mode into an extended team death match with a bunch of campers. 169 kills and 1 capture? Cool bro. Well done. Shotguns - Again, it requires little skill whatsoever when you have a shotgun in this game. The range on all the shotguns are a one shot kill no matter how far away the person is. You barely have to aim when you can just hipfire your way through the whole map. How are the shotguns so much more OP in vanguard compared to other CODs? Visual - is it me? Or is it super hard to spot an enemy in this game? It comes to a point where you’re blindly shooting at a red diamond for a good 7 seconds until you get sniped or get a bunch of dogs set on you. The maps are huge and there are plenty of opportunities for an enemy to become invisible and invincible once mounted. There are plenty more points that take out the fun from Vanguard, but these are the main issues that I have with the game. I hope this doesn’t dishearten anyone from buying Vanguard. Like I said, it does have some cool features. But unless these issues get addressed, it really is not worth your money and time. A lot of these issues are unfortunately unavoidable. There are always going to be campers. You can’t control the way people play. But spawns? You can totally do something about that. At least changing the spawns would definitely make a huge difference in the experience of this game. C’monnnnnn!
