Great show... for 6 seasons or so. Went downhill suddenly sometime in 7, and 8 was bad. Don't know if writers changed or what. All the characters were excellent except the chief, who was not developed at all, and Kristen was not really credible anyway as a police chief.

There's "that wouldn't happen" that's charming and/or funny, and " that wouldn't happen" that's just lazy and annoying. This movie is firmly in the latter. Basically a French Tourist Board piece, the performances are wooden and attempts at humor fall completely flat. Still, it's harmless enough, and watchable if all you need is dreamy scenery.

This gets 3 stars because it's a harmless family movie, plus the scenery is nice. And I appreciate that - with a glass of wine on a Friday night. Do not see this looking for great movie making. The script is banal and the actors and acting very stilted and humorless. Yes, it's Goonies meets Moana (sorta), but if, like me, you can't stand early teens constantly yelling at each other (also Goonies) this movie is not for you. However, if you can get over the really awkward beginning, you'll be rewarded with an OK adventure.

I watched the first two episodes, and moved on, not because the show was that bad, but because you could see where it was going, and the generally blah script and characters (except Omar) lacked a compelling reason to continue. Omar Sy is excellent, Paris is, of course, Paris, and the premise is intriguing. I just felt they missed a great opportunity to make a classic. Supporting characters need much better writing, and because of the above failings, I could not forgive the endless "that wouldn't happen" moments.

I liked this movie. It was great to watch with some drinks. Most critics did not, which I assume means they did not see the sense of ridiculous that the ESC seems was practically created to nurture. A spoof of the over-the-top glitz of an event that has been such an unlikely success for over 50 years. Everyone was having a good time, and the acts were actually pretty good! The film was not perfect, of course. Ferrell was embarrasingly old for his part - it was an easy role, and any number of (considerably) younger actors would have been much better, but everyone else was fine. This type of material has also been covered numerous times. But what the hey, when you are cooped up in covid-land, lower the bar and anything for a laugh. And watch out for those elves!

Based on the reviews and comments I had high hopes. I was disappointed. A flawed film of two parts. The first 70 mins or so...Sheesh, what a mope-fest! When the shows start it perks up, of course, but does not save the overall movie. Oh look...beautiful, talented, overly-perky chick gets surprise gobs of moola! Nothing wrong with the performances, but the script was just infantile. Also, most reviewers seem blind to the uncomfortable 'White Savior' resolution (which was easy to predict).The Korean Divas are by far the high point. Sorry about the low rating, but I'm not a teen girl....

Fine for about 6 episodes, then it got tired and lost interest. Stylish. Sets and characters look great. Very soapy (cardboard characters and stilted script. Too many plot logic holes to mention). Found it hard to really care about any of the people. I admit that this was for Spanish TV, which doubtless have different expectations to anglo, so thats OK. Puzzled at the TV-MA rating.

A big letdown after the first WW. Formulaic and derivative, with a mess of a plot and really no heart, this movie is saved only by the eye-candy of Gadot. The story involving this evil wish-granting crystal (done so much better as the One Ring in Tolkein) opens up so many plot logic goofs I gave up even looking for them. The problem was more the material than the actors. Poor Chris Pine was was reduced to a simpering fish. Kristen Wiig is no DC villain, so despite a strong start, she steadily loses grasp of the character as the film progresses. Still, it gets 2 stars, one for GG and her screen presence (if not her acting) and the other because it no doubt delivers to lots of people who apparently forgive anything as long as it's a superhero movie. For those like me, get a big poster of GG in WW outfit, and you have the whole movie experience right there.

I imagine this show is MUCH better on the stage. Was the dancing good? Dunno, much of it was in the background in this movie. I do know that the salsa/hip-hop music was unremarkable, the hip-hop side having none of the incisiveness of Hamilton. The pacing was also far too slow - and the show too long and monotone. Yes, yes I know it's LMM's homage to his background, and that's fine, but I found it too cliche-ridden. On the plus side, the actors all did well, and the general energy was great! If you like lots of salsa, it's a treat. From a purely theatrical standpoint, though, I guess Hamilton ( my all-time fave musical) set the bar too high.

If you like scifi, you'll love Dune. If you're like me, and anything after the original Star Trek is pretty boring, then there is still much to admire. This is principally the camera work and Hans Zimmer's score. Great atmosphere. Other than that, there is a rather formulaic eco-wokey plot and the acting is OK, even if the characters are rather cardboard. There are some exciting bits and thankfully it's not all stupid Star War'sy shootout stuff. The ending had zero climactic tension, but, of course, they want to drag you to the next episode.
