To an extent, the film Kartini is an excellent representation of Javanese culture during the colonisation period. Though, it lacks the depth of a book, yet it attracts enough audiences and delivers a biographical movie with factual contents that is easy to understand for the layman. 7.5 out of 10. Fair.
