I really don’t understand how Cobra Kai has an average rating of 4.8 stars. That just doesn’t seem right — something feels off about those ratings. The show is very poorly written. The story is predictable, and you can see what’s going to happen way before it does. The characters often act in silly or unbelievable ways, the acting ranges from average to pretty bad, especially in some of the teen drama scenes, which are so awkward and over-the-top that I had to skip them. The tone swings wildly between serious and completely cheesy, and not in a fun way. It felt more like a low-budget fan remake than a proper follow-up to The Karate Kid. There were a few fun moments here and there, but overall, I was really disappointed. I don’t think the hype around this show is deserved at all.
