Well-written, well-paced, well-done. This series has managed to weave an updated (1980s) version of the 1950s Hardy Boys plot formula. There are some who think that Joe is probably too young in this series, but it still works out well.
I was intrigued when they start off with their mother alive, who never exists except as a memory in the books. I was curious to see how this would in any way jive with the books, and they pulled it off. I was hooked in 20 minutes and watched all thirteen episodes in two nights.
The balanced cliff-hangers at the end of each episode leaves one wanting more. Even though they mostly tie everything up at the end of the last episode, there is an opening for another season. I hope that it's in the works.
