Listening to this album decades after its creation is a revelation at how forward thinking it was. Byrne, Eno, Worrell, and Belew were at the high point of youth and curiosity . There is a quiet energy here that is still rare. It isn't ambient (too lively). It isn't an academic exercise in repletion or variations on a theme. It is a marvelous collaborative work that proves the value of many artists working together. Real magic.
