Okay so you may be wondering: Why two stars? Why not one star like this absolute abomination of a movie deserves? I’ll tell you why. It was entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons. My partner and I struggled (and failed) not to laugh throughout the entire movie. Unfortunately for the film itself, it wasn’t a comedy. From the very start, we knew the pacing was off. Way too fast and jumbled, and it never got better. Also, “It’s time to cut out the cancer”... What a line. I’ve never written a review for a movie on Google, but this one was too bad not to leave a review (more like a warning) about. I’d recommend it to friends for the sole purpose of having a glass of wine and a few laughs. I don’t want to bash the actors, because I’m sure they just worked with what they were given, but the acting wasn’t much better than the plot itself. Even the music...at times it just felt very out of place, and at other times wholly unnecessary. I honestly think my favorite part of the movie was the tiny reference to The Goonies that Michole Briana White’s character makes. I saw Annabelle Wallis in Peaky Blinders and found her performance to be fine, but in this...very sub par. It just felt like the movie struggled heavily with its identity, just as I struggled not to walk out. But I paid $20 for two tickets, so...yeah. Basically, don’t pay money to watch the movie. And enjoy it with wine. Lots of wine.
