This was just a poorly done very boring movie. A golden opportunity to set the stage for the Sopranos was missed badly. I would've been fine with it not being centered around a young Tony had it been done right but it was not. I could've even ignored the mostly poor acting if the storyline had been better. Trying to watch this and expecting it as a prequel to make sense knowing what we know from the series is an enormous let down. I'm going to pretend this movie never happened. Whenever I rewatch the Sopranos as I still do from time to time, I will not be thinking of this so-called back story whatsoever. And one last thing that might be unpopular... I didn't like the young Gandolfini as a young Tony. The kid had never seen the Sopranos prior to be cast in this role. He might make a great choice in a docufilm about James Gandolfini but he clearly doesn't know Tony Soprano.
