I am a huge fan of the book series and I really enjoyed the movie. Some parts didnt follow the books the way i would have wished. The books nailed it so it was odd to see something different in mitch's backstory that didnt land aswell with me. However the producers started the mitch rapp character off at the very beginning of his character progression before he turns into the mitch rapp from the books so there is alot of character growth left to do in the movie storyline. I think that lead alot of people, who didnt read the books and or know where he will end up, into thinking his character wasnt up to par for a spy/counter terrorist operative and tuning out. Also i think timing of the release with cultural support towards the war on terror waining mixed with other big movies being released made this movie get overlooked. I recommend it and definitely recommend the books. I hope they make more and I believe after a few more movies are made and people get to see the storyline play out it will gain more attention.
