Toe Cutter

I had to check out this anime, given all the attention it’s received and it hasn’t disappointed. I’m an older, long time anime viewer and this one really sets itself apart with an excellent story that’s complex and continues to build over each season. I’ve chosen the English dub version, even though I usually prefer English subtitles with Japanese language. The English dub can be a bit screechy as they use Japanese inflection with English, but it works most of the time. The animation is full of surprises, especially when the Scouts are using their ODM gear to swing all over the place ala Spider-Man-esque cables they use to fight the Titans. It’s pretty impressive. The Titans are terrifying, as they have a penchant for eating humans ALIVE, which is often conveyed w/o too much gore. Even so, it stirs up some primordial fears that all people have about being eaten by something much larger than people. It’s been a great ride so far and I’m looking forward to Season 4, which is apparently the final season. I understand the manga goes far beyond the 4 seasons of AoT, so perhaps we’ll see more of the Scouts and the 3 Walls.
