This book is an amazing true account by former Hollywood camera man, Mike Tomkies who decided to leave the Hollywood grind and move back to Great Britain, specifically a Scottish island. A friend gave him a literal male wildcat (similar in appearance to the house cat, but genetically different, another phylum of the species). Eventually, another friend gave him a female wildcat, and Tomkies assisted with minimal involvement in these two eventually mating and having a few kitten wildcats! Though my specific terminology may be slightly wrong, the crux of my recount is accurate. I hit a lull in the reading of the book in the middle, but I powered through, and I am so glad I did. Tomkies also had a German Shepherd who was protector and friend to the cats. And of course, Tomkies included maybe 15-20 pages of pictures. This book is a great read and helps me to remember that there are some people in this world who are truly kind, loving and willing to help others!!!!!
