Us is strange, thrilling and somewhat comedic, to summarise: Us starts off really well with the characters being really likeable with Winston Duke and Lupita Nyongo performing amazingly in their roles, the camerawork and score are all amazing with some shots and longshots chilling me out with hidden details and foreshadowing being either in conversations or the out of focus background
However the film Peaks early on with the explanation being lacklustre and leaving me wanting to know more! The twist was good if not predictable and the plot has multiple holes in it that when I think about it, leaves me wondering why that happened, also the entire ‘explanation’ just felt super dead pan with the end of the film again leaving me scratch my head in confusion
All together I think Us was hugely overhyped and leaves me scared that Jordan Peele could become the next Shyamalan, the film starts off amazing but fails to keep me engaged at the very end.
Still though I did enjoy the brutal nature of some scenes so there’s that
