This show was quite painful to watch. Outside of the great dance scenes which were the only good thing in the series, everything else was basically garbage. The plot could have been interesting if it wasn’t confused by 18 different (unnecessary) story lines. The amount of unnecessary and ill-timed sex scenes was inappropriate especially considering these actors are supposed to be portraying underage teenagers. And don’t even get me started on this GARBAGE script. Only 3 lines out of every episode makes sense, it really just seemed like the writers were looking for the most dramatic way to fill up 43 minute episodes and thought they could have the characters say anything and people would just take it. Definitely detracted from the plot, the show would have benefitted from being a lot shorter, less one-liners that didn’t make sense, and less sex scenes. Would not recommend except for the fact that the main character (who we don’t really focus on for most of the show) was black and I like to support black artists.

if I could give this movie zero stars I would. After seeing almost everyone else’s reviews, I can’t help but think that I watched a completely different movie with close to no plot, overt misogyny, a TRASH soundtrack, and not much else. I have many qualms with this film, the most important of them being how offended I was throughout this. I assumed that a middle aged male divorcee had written this, and was appalled to find out it was written and directed by a woman!! I was so disturbed throughout the whole movie that I couldn’t even appreciate the artistic cinematography. Not only was this movie offensive to women everywhere, but the script was nonsensical, with little dialogue between the two characters who supposedly fall in love in two months?? And every time they did speak, he was threatening her, choking her (non consensually or erotically), demeaning her, or lying to her so I can’t really point out the “romance” that everyone else is referring to... Also the soundtrack was just bad. It’s not even that I didn’t like the songs, they were just poorly placed and didn’t add anything to the movie. All I can say is this film is problematic at best. If I could give negative stars I would, this is mad regressive and I wish I could get back the two hours I wasted being offended by this movie. Do with that what you will!
